You’re about to learn of a unique process in building your future custom home. The collage of pictures on this page were built using this technique.  There’s a 3500 square foot colonial in Newington that was completely built from April to November 2006 after the foundation was poured in March.  There are 2- 1800 Sq. ft colonials designed and built in Torrington begun in May 2009 and completed February 2010.  There’s another 1800 sq. ft. home in Washington Depot designed, begun, and completed in under 4 months, and many others over the years completed in less time than most general contractors, and for $20,000.00, $30,000.00, $60,000.00… one home was built for $120,000 less than the next closest bid at the time.  The process/technique is myself, Jay Nadeau of Ethics Home Building, and I’m unique!

With over 25 years experience in all aspects of carpentry and the building trades, coupled with a thorough background and working knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, I’ve been able to streamline certain building processes along with designing a few of the custom homes I’ve completed.  Some of my business relationships and partnerships have been with me all or most of the 25 years, as well.  I’m not shopping for the lowest price and taking a chance on someone I don’t know with a customer’s money that I haven’t earned yet. And I believe there’s been a return on that code of conduct or this built trust in others.  While I know I’m certainly not paying the lowest price out there for a sub’s work, I also know that I’m paying less than average from the mutual respect my building partners and I have created together over the years.  I also use on average a third of the subcontrators General contractors use, even less if you compare me with a General contractor who has moved completely to the business side of the field.  I’m the guy framing your home, roofing and siding it, installing the windows and doors, doing the trim, the floors, the cabinets, hanging your interior doors, doing your crown molding, the tile… And after 25 years I’m doing it faster with better craftsmanship, less help, less time lapses in scheduling, less tardies, and less absences than the competition.  Using a lull, excel spreadsheet, myself, and a practical working knowledge of pythagorus theorems, I can frame a house with complex rooflines in the same amount of time as a crew of 3.  And I’m there, on your project, 7AM-5:30PM Monday-Friday, not anywhere else as I only take on one project at a time.  There is one disadvantage to this method of custom home building: scheduling may be out 1-4 months for a start date depending on the time of year and your final decision to move forward, but with a free consultation, and free full comprehensive quote on any floor plan you’ve found online or paid to have designed, you’ve got nothing to lose to schedule an appointment, only an additional option and a new perspective to gain.
